Nomination Period
February 23 to March 20, 2026	Nominations sought in local school communities
Regional Level Process
By March 23, 2026	Nominations emailed to regional point of contacts (POCs) by HQ POC
By April 3, 2026	Regional POCs send a list of candidates (including email address and principal contact information) to the HQ POC.
By April 7, 2026	Regional POCs send demographic form to HQ POC.
March 26 - April 17, 2026	The regional selection panel members: Review the nomination forms Obtain signature/permission of nominated teachers (Section 1 Form) Obtain signatures of POC/District Superintendent/principal (Section 2 Form) Obtain resume and bio of nominated teacher Upload documents into 2026 EOP TEAMS
On or before April 20, 2026 (whenever the regional process has been completed)	Regional POCs: Notify DoWEA HQ of selected candidates (two candidates from the Americas, three from the Pacific, and four from Europe, when possible) Will not notify candidates at their selection Gather letter of recommendation from principals Upload nomination packages into 2026 EOP TEAMS
Headquarters Level Process
February 20 to May 13, 2026	EOP community organized in TEAMS
On or before April 20, 2026	Regional POCs: Submit Regional Candidates’ names to DoWEA HQ Upload nomination packages in 2026 EOP TEAMS.
April 20 to 27, 2026	HQ selection panel review period. Panel members will review endorsements and nomination forms independently using scoring rubrics. Scores are submitted to HQ POC.
April 28 to May 1, 2026	The top two candidates will be scheduled for a virtual interview.
May 4-5, 2026	The HQ interview panel will conduct virtual interviews with the top two candidates. The estimated interview time would be 7:30-8:30 AM EST/ 4:00-5:00 PM EST to accommodate the different time zones.
May 7-8, 2026	HQ POC provides a written recommendation for 2026 Dr. Linda L. Curtis Educator of Promise to Chief Academic Officer (CAO) for the Director’s approval. Debrief the EOP selection with the Director as requested. Compile bio of the selected Dr. Linda L. Curtis EOP Award recipient and share with HQ Communications office to coordinate communication to the field.
On or before May 13, 2026	District Superintendent, principal, and regional POCs are notified of the Dr. Linda L. Curtis EOP Award recipient selection.
On or before May 22, 2026	HQ Coordinates EOP announcement: Director will announce the 2026 Dr. Linda L. Curtis EOP Award recipient. HQ COMMS will make the announcement via the DoWEA website.
SY 2026-2027	2026 Dr. Linda L. Curtis EOP Awardee: Recognition and professional learning opportunities. Recognition period is June 2, 2026, to June 1, 2027
