Mask Guidance from the DoDEA Europe Director
March 4, 2022
Dear DoDEA-Europe families,
In accordance with recent CDC updated guidance, DoDEA is working with our local installation commands and public health partners to determine the appropriate way forward in each of our schools regarding in-door masking policy. Starting Monday, March 7th, 2022 - on installations where the command has deemed it appropriate and safe - mask use in DoDEA schools will be optional until further notice.
These command decisions will be based on guidance from public health officials, who take into consideration the COVID transmission rates within their communities. Host Nation guidance will also continue to play a role in decision making, particularly when it comes to the need for mask use during travel to and from school and events.
As these local decisions are still in discussion, and could change based on changing health and safety circumstances, we ask that our staff and students report to school on Monday, March 7th, wearing masks until instructed otherwise by their school administrative teams.

Thank you for your continued support during this uniquely challenging time.
Sincerely,
