DoDEA Pacific Announces Publication of SUN 46

Okinawa, Japan —
DoDEA Pacific is proud to announce the publication of this year’s edition of the SUN, a collection of literary works, musical compositions, photography, and visual art work. SUN 46 presents the accomplishments of both students and staff from our schools in Japan, Korea, Okinawa, and Guam.
“Production of this year’s SUN has largely been overshadowed by COVID-19 and the ongoing effects left in its wake,” said DoDEA Pacific Director for Student Excellence Lois Rapp. “It is our hope that the student work featured in this SUN will be a light to you and that your will enjoy the collaboration of intellect, ability, and creativity featured within.”
The first edition of the SUN was published in April of 1975. The 171 entries printed in the first publication were selected out of 5,000 original submissions from students and staff members. Each successive year the publication was expanded. In 1980, SUN 6 included entries by over 500 individuals. Since 1980, the SUN has continued to publish approximately 500 entries each year and a total of more than 16,000 creative works have been included on its pages.
