Effective June 18, Dr. Christopher Racek will become the new principal of Andre Lucas Elementary School.

Fort Campbell, KY —

Mr. Hugh McKinnon, Community Superintendent for Fort Campbell Schools, is pleased to announce effective June 18, Dr. Christopher Racek will become the new principal of Andre Lucas Elementary School.

"Dr. Racek has an extensive and impressive history of supporting military-connected students. His positive attitude and wealth of knowledge make him the right fit for leading Lucas Elementary School to the next level of achievement," said McKinnon.

Racek joined DoDEA as a 6th-grade teacher in 2003. Within three years, he advanced to assistant principal at Iwakuni Elementary. His first principalship was at Sasebo Elementary. Racek also served as the principal at Joan K. Mendel and Jack N. Darby Elementary schools. Additionally, he successfully led six schools through accreditation. He, most recently, served on the Pacific East District Steering Committee.

While serving in the Navy, Racek earned a Bachelor of Science in Liberal Studies from Excelsior College. After retiring from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer, he earned his Master of Arts in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado and a Doctorate in Leadership in K-12 Programs from Capella University.

Racek has a passion for teaching and learning, and after spending most of his professional career in Japan, Racek and his wife look forward to exploring the Fort Campbell area.
