Mr. Todd Schlitz
Biography
Mr. Todd M. Schlitz serves as the Regional Chief of Staff for the Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA) Pacific Region in Okinawa, Japan, a position he has held since March 2018. In this role, he serves as the principal advisor to the Regional Director and provides executive-level coordination and strategic integration across a multi-district education system supporting military-connected students throughout the Pacific theater.
Mr. Schlitz has more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning education administration, defense operations, financial management, logistics, and strategic planning. Prior to his current role, he held several senior positions within DoWEA, including Chief of the Financial Systems Support Branch and Acting Chief of Budget Formulation and Presentation at headquarters in Alexandria, Va., where he led Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) activities and supported presidential budget development and congressional justification. Earlier in his DoWEA career, he served as Acting Chief of Resource Management for the Pacific Region and held logistics and program management roles supporting transportation, asset accountability, and enterprise logistics operations across regional schools.
In addition to his civilian career, Mr. Schlitz served more than two decades in the United States Army as a senior logistics leader, retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer Four. His assignments included service with the 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment (Airborne) and the 1st Battalion, 1st Special Forces Group (Airborne). He deployed multiple times in support of the Global War on Terrorism, including operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Philippines. His military decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Legion of Merit, and numerous additional campaign and service awards.
Mr. Schlitz holds a Master of Science in International Relations from Troy University, a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Business Administration from Campbell University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Studies from the University of Maryland. He also holds a Department of Defense Financial Management Certification Level III and is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
