Why Apply?

The DoDEA Teacher of the Year Program brings RECOGNITION to great teachers, students, parents, districts, communities, DoDEA and the profession of teaching. Going through the process is about self-reflection and affirmation of the reasons teaching children is so important. Both the process and being a District and/or DoDEA Teacher of the Year leads to personal growth about the field of teaching, meeting other Teacher of the Year, networking across the United States with like-minded teachers, about inspiring and being inspired by educators who are passionate about teaching and learning, and about learning through travel and conferences. Becoming a Teacher of the Year is a wonderful opportunity to grow in the profession and grow in your practice while representing all DoDEA teachers.
