Michael Perez is an elementary music education teacher at Seoul American Elementary School where he has taught for three years.

Perez holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music and Business from Central Washington University where he also earned his certificate of Education, Choral Music K-12.

Perez says his goal in teaching is to empower his students to be highly skilled instrumentalists with an understanding of their own unique character, having compassion for the players they will encounter along the way. His proudest accomplishment is seeing struggling students find success through music and performing arts. Knowing he has given a child an opportunity to be creative and expressive gives Perez a sense of fulfillment.

"Michael Perez is a dedicated, professional educator," said Korea District Superintendent Dr. Judith Allen. "He not only excels as a music teacher but has been very involved in continuous school improvement. As co-chair of the Continuous School Improvement team, he was instrumental in leading SAES to a highly successful AdvancED School Accreditation visit last school year. He is a pleasure to work with, and it is great having him in the Korea District."
