Mr. Shriver is assigned to the IT Division’s Infrastructure Program (IP) Branch as a Team Leader over our evolving and heavily tasked Network Architecture and Engineering work force. He also functions as the division’s “DoD Joint Enterprise Level Agreement – Cisco” contract focal point for enterprise-wide technical support and services requirements, and as the principal Change Control Advisory for all activities associated with DoDEA's local and wide area networks. His research and decisions have a direct bearing on enterprise resources valued at more than $24M.
As Team Leader, Mr. Shriver directs the daily activities of three Senior Network Engineering positions, two contractor Subject Matter Experts, and due to manning constraints, three additional Senior Systems Engineers. This relatively small team is responsible for securely interconnecting DoDEA's 74 global school complexes with our HQ office, our three region and eight district support offices, the DoDEA Special Purpose Processing Node, and to the World Wide Web using the resources.
More than five fully loaded pallets of sensitive network equipment have been installed without incident, enabling the remaining phases of the "Tech Refresh" project to start on time or ahead of schedule.
Mr. Shriver continues to research and respond to DoD-level data-calls which resulted in DISA providing DoDEA with 110,000 no-cost licenses (a net savings of $275K) needed to begin building out and deploying Network Access Control software agents – a critical pillar in DoDEA’s overall cybersecurity “defense in depth” strategy.
