Mr. Yoshikazu (Ken) Oshiro
Mr. Oshiro serves as the lead of the Network Operations Center (NOC), and his contributions have been nothing short of extraordinary. His leadership, technical expertise and commitment to excellence consistently reflect great credit upon the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) and the Department of Defense.
He sets the standard for exemplary customer support and technical excellence. He fosters a collaborative, team-oriented work environment, inspiring his peers across the global DoDEA IT network. His leadership exemplifies the “win or lose as a team” culture, where teamwork and mutual support are paramount to success.
In 2025, Mr. Oshiro worked every weekend for three consecutive months, dedicating himself fully to a variety of critical initiatives and IT upgrades that directly contributed to DoDEA’s success. During this period, he led and executed key projects including the new Quantico and Fort Campbell IP space allocation, circuit migration planning, maintenance weekends, data center switch upgrades, firepower upgrades, VPN upgrades, Aruba Central migrations and SD-WAN installations.
These tasks, completed with extraordinary commitment, had a significant and positive impact on the DoDEA mission. They enhanced network performance and security, which is critical to supporting the educational needs of students, teachers and staff worldwide. These improvements will have a lasting impact on DoDEA’s ability to support schools globally.
